Coconut Oil

This is one of the 3 oils featured in our moisture post, that transfer hydration from water molecules to hair strands, and are very good for conditioning. It also has antibacterial properties and is very light, so it won’t weigh your hair down.

Yoghurt

The protein in yoghurt nourishes, moisturizes and strengthens hair. It contains lactic acid which clarifies the scalp and aids hair follicle growth. Please use full fat yoghurt which has more nourishing qualities than the diet kind.

Honey

Humectants attract and bind moisture to hair molecules, and honey is a fine example. It has a softening effect on the hair and is full of vitamins which nourish the scalp.

The Recipe

  • 2  tablespoons full fat yogurt
  • 1  tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Combine the ingredients, and massage them into your hair from scalp to ends. Cover in a shower cap for an hour to trap your body heat, or if you have a dryer, then 15 – 20 minutes is fine. Rinse out, and condition, and you’ve done your hair a world of good. Try to do this every week for 4-6 weeks, and when you see the results, come and buy me a drink!

Hello Ugo, you can use any good yoghurt that comes in a bottle or bowl. (Not the sweetened ones they sell in traffic o!) And the full-fat ones are better than the diet or low-fat ones.
